Description:

Daley is a singer, songwriter and recording artist hailing from Manchester, UK. A British boy who grew up on the sounds of Prince, Chaka Khan, Jill Scott, D’Angelo, Radiohead and Oasis – Daley first became prominent after co-writing and featuring on the Gorillaz hit ‘Doncamatic’ under the wing of the band’s creator Damon Albarn in London. He has since become one of the UK’s most respected musical exports, recording and touring on both sides of the Atlantic and working with the likes of Pharrell Williams, Miguel, Jessie J, Emeli Sande, Maxwell, Jill Scott and Marsha Ambrosius. His first solo work, the ‘Those Who Wait’ EP was independently released and introduced the world to Daley’s brand of Alternative R&B / Soul, experimental Pop… and an undeniable male voice. It gave rise to an unexpected surge of popularity in the US with Marsha Ambrosius assisted duet ‘Alone Together’ – which after a tentative release became a runaway Top 5 hit at R&B radio. Largely hailed a ‘new classic’ the song garnered Daley kudos from The Grammys, BET, Soul Train and MOBO awards and a loyal State-side fanbase. The following year saw Top 20 singles in the UK charts – ‘Remember Me’ featuring Jessie J and ‘Broken’. His debut album ‘Days & Nights’ was released shortly after via Universal Republic Records, to critical acclaim and boasting contributions from Pharrell Williams, Illangelo (The Weeknd), Bernard Butler (Suede) and Andre Harris (Usher, Jill Scott). The album gave rise to another Top 10 R&B radio single ‘Look Up’ and was followed by several sold-out headline tours around the US and Europe. Daley described the project as a ‘diary of sorts’, showcasing a selection of his most vulnerable, creative and carefully crafted songs to date. Currently adding the final touches to his second album project, drawing on experiences both professional and personal over the last two years including the loss of close friend and manager Richard Antwi, Daley is poised to open the door on the next chapter of his musical journey with renewed inspiration… and eagerly awaited new music.

Album: Thrust
Genre: Electronic
Year: 2017
Size: ~ 256 mb
Source: Digital Download
Format: FLAC (tracks)
Quality: lossless
Sample Rate: 44.1 kHz / 16 Bit

Description:

Black Asteroid is the solo guise of Bryan Black, best known as one-half of industrial techno duo MOTOR. While MOTOR’s work is vocal-based and more overtly influenced by the aggressive EBM sound of Nitzer Ebb and D.A.F., Black Asteroid focuses on the dancefloor, with distorted, driving techno beats and few, if any, vocals. Originally from Minneapolis, Black worked at Paisley Park Studios as a sound designer for Prince and was a member of ’90s industrial groups H3llb3nt and Haloblack. He started MOTOR with former bandmate Olivier Grasset, and the duo released a string of successful albums on NovaMute, Shitkatapult, and Dim Mak, in addition to touring with Depeche Mode in 2009. Black Asteroid debuted in 2011 with The Engine EP, released by CLR (who subsequently released MOTOR’s Man Made Machine full-length). Further EPs and remix 12″s followed on CLR and Electric Deluxe, including Black Acid (2012), Grind (2013), and Metal (2014). Black Asteroid remixed songs by Depeche Mode, British Electric Foundation, Marco Bailey, and numerous lesser-known techno producers. The 2014 EP Black Moon featured two songs sung by Cold Cave’s Wesley Eisold. The EP’s title track anchored another EP, released in 2016 by Pitch Black, which included additional mixes and the previously unreleased cut “Frantic.” In 2017, Black Asteroid signed to Last Gang and released the single “Howl,” featuring vocals by Zola Jesus. The track appeared on full-length debut Thrust, which also included several tracks featuring Cold Cave. ~ Paul Simpson

Description:

The bods behind Australia’s Balance label were chuffed with Henry Saiz’s 2011 contribution to their long-running mix series, so asked him to provide another volume. Saiz decided to use it as an excuse to promote his Natura Sonoris label, gathering together two discs worth of previously unreleased material from his growing roster of artists. To make it extra special, he also utilized an impressive array of homemade field recordings. The resultant two disc throw-down is undeniably magical, with Saiz shuffling his way through deep and trippy tech-house, rubbery dancefloor electronica, drowsy ambient, fuzzy Balearic house, hushed late night grooves and becalmed experimental soundscapes. Oh, and a dash of “tropical pagan” (look it up: it’s definitely a thing).
